Holy Redeemer Catholic Community is a member parish of the Reformed Catholic Communion.

Our Parish

Holy Redeemer Catholic Community, an independent Catholic parish with no ties to Roman Catholic jurisdiction, was founded in large part to honor the words of the popular hymn, "All Are Welcome".  Having worked for over 30 years in various Roman Catholic dioceses, Fr. Michel Holland was acutely aware of the institutional injustices and ungracious policies and behaviors of the church's leaders.  In 2006, while at his home parish of St. Mary's, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the word of God became clear in his heart: "Go and build a church where all are truly welcome, without prejudice."  After weeks of soul-searching and personal anguish, Fr. Michel decided to leave the Roman church and to found a parish where the love of people supercedes all man-made regulations.  Holy Redeemer has, from its inception, been the Fort Wayne Catholic parish where the teachings of Vatican II are taken seriously, where women and men are truly equal in every way, where divorced and remarried people can receive the sacraments with honesty and openness, where gay and lesbian people can breathe in the Spirit's grace and love, without experiencing blame or rejection.  To this end, we commit ourselves to following the vision of our pastor until all the despised and rejected in this city know that God loves them unconditionally, just the way they are.
